Happy days

My first week at my new school in Puerto de la Cruz is almost over. As I’m writing this story I’m a little pressed for time because I’m going out to have paella with some other students. That means that I’ve found exactly what I was looking for 🙂 The Spanish classes are fine. I’m in a group of 5 now, but I will advance to a B2 group next week with one other student. A Chinese dude. The students here a much younger than in my previous school, and most of them are looking for more than just Spanish classes. A travel/ meeting new people and a learning experience. So that’s great!

I had high expectations of my surfing class on Tuesday. Turns out that I have absolutely no talent for surfing and I even got a little seasick. Not only was it very difficult, but it was quite uncomfortable to me and I did not enjoy it at all. So I’ve decided that I will not become a surfer dude.

On Wednesday there are presentations which are pretty interesting. I also consider them an additional Spanish class so I will keep attending those. At night I joined my Irish flat mate to a bar downtown. Had a beer, watched a Spanish bitch fight, and made it to bed around 00:30.

Today we’ve had a salsa/ bachata class. That was very fun 🙂 Even though I lack for talent in the dancing department as well. Which was quite surprising to me as I always thought I was pretty gifted. Perhaps the alcohol clouded my judgement 😉 I’ve found a dancing school in the same mall as my school and the gym and I will attend a trial salsa class on Monday.

With classes every day, going to the gym 6 days a week and all the other activities I’m actually pretty busy. I’m very glad that I decided to come here and I look forward to the weeks to come.
